Born in In 1998 he finished his university studies. He joined his siblings in
the family company. At the same time he also started the engraving course
offered by the Catalan Federation of Jewelers taught by Antoni Padró, a good
teacher and a very demanding engraver. He also knew Jordi Samsó, a well-known
painter and engraver who taught him complementary techniques. Later on, Jordi continued with his training at the Escola d’Arts i
Oficis in Jordi is very thankful to Christian
Decamillis and David Riccardo
for all their advanced teachings, which have been of great importance in his
formation. Staying in the Jordi’s main effort for these past years is focused on making people
aware of the immense possibilities of hand engraving. He would like this
artistic technique to be fully recognized in the same way it was two centuries
ago. If this technique is still used nowadays, it is thanks to good engravers
who work mainly with jewels and firearms, and who are still doing wonders
with them. The next step for Jordi consists on breaking the limits marked by
ornamentation and place hand engraving in the art field and free artistic
creation. In particular, Jordi does it from where he feels more comfortable,
making his portraits and valuing good drawing above all. As far as quality is
concerned, Jordi’s engraved portraits are works of art which cannot be
compared to a computerized photoengraving. |
